Competitive Electives

The following electives tend to be competitive (please keep in mind that wait lists work very well in fourth year -- if you do not get an elective through the lottery, please ask Maureen to put you on a wait list):

Anesthesia: 140.03a and 140.03b
Dermatology: 140.01
Medicine: 140.05, 140.14, 140.16, 140.19, 140.24, 140.28, 140.35, 140.42 and 140.91
Ob-Gyn: 140.09 and 140.11
Ophthalmology: 140.01a and 140.03a
Orthopedic Surgery: 140.06
Pediatrics: 140.01j, 140.01k and 140.01n
Radiology: 140.03 and 140.17

Scheduling Exceptions

If you are interested in taking an elective in Fresno, you must apply directly through Fresno. A list of Fresno elective clerkships is available on the UCSF Fresno site, and the Fresno elective application can be downloaded in Microsoft Word and PDF formats.

Also, Anatomy 150.01; Neurology 140.01a, 140.12; Ob/Gyn 140.12; OMFS 189; Radiology 140.18 and Radiology 140.19 are not included in the elective lottery. If you are interested in taking one of these electives, contact:
