Visas

Residents and Clinical Fellows who are not US citizens must have a permanent residency status or an appropriate visa for graduate medical education. The preferred visa is the J-1 visa sponsored by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG)

Immigration policies change often and thus non-citizen residents must maintain communication with the UCSF Services to International Students and Scholars Office (SISS).
