
Onward Fund
Dr. Tom Hall has generously
donated funds for UCSF students to travel to international, national or
regional conferences to present scholarly work with a global health, human
rights or health and social activism theme, or participate actively in
proceedings. Grants can be up to $500 per application, to be used for
reimbursement of travel- and conference-related expenses only. Exact amount awarded
will be stated in the notification letter.
To apply, please provide the following to the Program Assistant at the
Office of International
Programs at least one month before the meeting:
- A letter stating the purpose of attendance, your role in the conference,
and your anticipated budget.
- If making a presentation, provide the title and description of the
work to be presented, and the names of collaborators.
- Official notice of acceptance of the paper or poster, or of participation
in the planned meeting.
- Contact information.
Decisions and notification will be sent within one week.
Within one month of return, please submit the following to the Office
of International Programs:
- receipts for expenses related
to your travel, such as airline ticket or registration.
- Proof of attendance at the conference, such as a printed
brochure, agenda, or name badge.
- A signed statement
verifying that expenses are related to attendance at the conference.
- A completed trip
report form, submitted online.
