Educate and raise awareness
in the UCSF community about international health issues, and help students
pursue their interests in the field. Students from all UCSF schools are
welcome to participate.
The group is informally
led by students who volunteer or are elected to the position of coordinator.
A faculty sponsor with substantial international experience provides guidance
to the organization. Student coordinators are responsible for registering
IHSIG with the Office of Student Activities and making budget requests.
Coordinators are responsible for organizing speakers, scheduling space
for meetings and activities, and maintaining listserv and web pages. Monthly
meetings for all members are usually held on the UCSF campus monthly. More
frequent sub-group meetings may focus on particular activities planned
and agreed upon by the Interest Group.
IHSIG manages a listserv with over 200 subscribers. To subscribe, fill

IHSIG usually holds monthly dinner meetings with a student presentation on an
IH topic of interest.
