Educational Research Funding for Faculty

Faculty Educational Research Grants

To stimulate educational research at UCSF we fund four educational research grants each year to a maximum of $5,000 each (annually $20,000). These grants do not cover the investigator's salary, but may support a research assistant, software, incentives, production of materials, development of a poster for presentation.

Medical Education Research Fellowships (MERF)

The Office of Medical Education (OME) sponsors two faculty members who are medical educators for a two-year fellowship which provides 20% salary support up to a maximum of $30,000 a year for each year of the program. The purpose of the fellowship is to develop expertise in an area of medical education research as a means to becoming an independent medical education researcher and an educational leader locally and nationally.
