Application instructions and formats vary depending on the individual funding source. Instructions are included in the descriptions of opportunities offered by each agency.
Please read the important information below about the January 15th deadline.
1. Students interested in potential funding for Spring Quarter or funding for yearlong intensive research in biomedical, translational, or social science research need to apply by the January 15th deadline.
2. Students seeking funding to support their research in basic, clinical/translational, educational and social sciences can apply for PACCTR Fellowships. Medical students applications will also be considered for the School of Medicine Dean's Quarterly Fellowships. These funding programs share the same application. Both support research and projects at UCSF, off-campus, or abroad.
3. School of Medicine students seeking funding to support international research, for travel to undertake language training, or to participate in international clinical programs can apply for grants through the Office of International Programs.
- Applicants who intend to perform research abroad can also apply for the PACCTR/SOM Dean's Quarterly Fellowships. But, students cannot receive funding from both sources for the same research project.
4. Students seeking funding for smaller, direct costs of their Pathways to Discovery project work, excluding stipend or travel expenses, can apply for the Pathways to Discovery Project Grant. Students are eligible for this grant only after their Pathways Project Proposal has been approved.
5. Funding is never guaranteed and students are encouraged to discuss alternative funding options with their mentors. |
