3. What common variations exist in this career after training? Many opportunities - subspecialty training in gyn onc, reproductive endocrin and infertility and perinatology. clinical practice, HMO, academics and nontraditional fellowships - urogynecology, family planning, epidemiology.

4. What is a typical work day for you (or someone else representative)? Long!

5. What is the "culture" of this career? Sensitive

6. How compatible is this career with raising a family? How is this different for men and women? Can be difficult depending on call schedule but definitely workable.

a.Extra-curricular/volunteer work? helpful - particularly showing committment to women's health
b. Research/publications? helpful but not a requirement.

d. AOA? varies per school as to how much emphasis placed on AOA
