A Clean, Well-Lighted Place

Transplanting insulin-producing islet cells from donated pancreases into the livers of patients is a promising new treatment for diabetes. Our interactive tour of UCSF’s Islet and Cellular Production Facility (ICPF) offers a rare glimpse into a world of "clean rooms", where pancreases are "chopped", "shaken", and "rocked".
