Emergency Loans

Interest free emergency loans are available to students with unexpected financial problems or obligations. To obtain an emergency loan, visit Student Affairs in S-245, and fill out the short, required form.

You may borrow up to $1,500 (or more depending on your circumstances). Checks are generally available within three business days (Student Affairs will contact you to let you know when it's ready), and can be picked up by at the Satellite Accounting Office, located on the "G" level of Millberry Union between 2:30-4:30 p.m. Repayment checks should be given to Sara Campillo in Curricular Affairs, S-221.

If you have "cash flow" problems while awaiting your Federal Stafford loan check and you are registered and attending classes, you may apply for a Student Financial Services loan to tide you over. A small amount of interest is charged on these loans.

Students with severe and chronic financial problems should consult with their Student Financial Services counselor concerning additional loans that may be available or to seek help with setting up and adhering to a realistic budget.
