Dr. Goldstone to create new Resident Well-Being Program

Rachel Goldstone, MD, director of the UCSF Medical Student Well-being Program since 1998, will be moving on to the Office of Graduate Medical Education (GME), as Director of GME Well-Being Programs. In her new role, Dr. Goldstone will develop preventive programs to target the needs of residents and fellows proactively.

As director of the UCSF Medical Student Well-being Program, Dr. Goldstone spearheaded the expansion of the program from a primarily clinical service to an extensive array of preventive programs. She created outreach programs, curricular and extracurricular courses, and served as a consultant to the Dean's Office on physician well-being. Dr. Goldstone also focused considerable effort on topics in diversity, developing a mentorship program, and collaborating in the diversity curriculum for medical students.

Dr. Goldstone will continue in the role as consultant to the Medical Student Well-being Program, with Dr. Rebecca Watters taking over as Director of Medical Student Well-being. Dr. Goldstone can be reached at goldstor@medsch.ucsf.edu or at (415) 476-4561.
