Services and Programs
- Confidential
Counseling: Students seek help with depression,
loss and grief, anxiety, relationship or family problems, academic difficulties,
alcohol or substance use, couples counseling, and many, many other issues.
- Partners in Medicine:
a program to address the stress of medical education on medical students'
relationships. Events include the Welcoming Dinner in the fall, and
an event after winter break. In addition, we can offer educational events
on topics such as couples communication, dual-career marriages, babies
and boards. Medical students and their significant others are invited.
You do not need to be in a relationship to attend, only an interest
in the topic is necessary.
- "D-Stress Rounds"
are meetings with third-year students during their Medicine and Ob-Gyn
clerkships addressing a wide range of stressors that arise during clinical
work.
- Co-sponsorship of Mental Health Awareness Week.
- Dr. Wishbone: A school newspaper column addressing common mental health
concerns.
- Continued Focus on Wellness: Fruit during Intersessions, wellness
kits for first-year medical students, and holiday wellness tips.
- "On Doctoring"
discussion groups for all students. Time and dates TBA.
- Campus Outreach Events – We host lunchtime session for medical
students to promote good self care habits and destigmatize mental health.
We invite dynamic UCSF faculty members to present on topics that are
linked with their current curriculum. Please see our calendar of outreach

- Passport to Wellness – We partner with other campus departments
to support wellness for the UCSF campus. We represent the medical school
and voice needs and host events specifically for the medical school.
We contribute to the annual Passport
to Wellness series.
