Scholars Program
Melanie Dance, MD (TSP 2006-2007) currently serves as a Medical Education Fellow at UCSF during a post-graduate year prior to beginning residency. She received her MD from UCSF in 2006 where she also earned an Area of Concentration in Medical Education and created a web-based module on the acute abdomen which is currently being utilized by third-year medical students participating in the Surgery Core Clerkship. In addition to her work with web modules, she continues to be an active participant in the Clinical Core Operations Committee (CCOC) and the Advanced Studies Operating Committee (ASOC). She continues to directly teach medical students surgical skills in conjunction with the Department of Surgery and physical exam skills at UCSF’s Clinical Skills Center. Her current research projects include development of clinicopathologic correlations in chronic pancreatitis; and use of and evaluation of web-based curricula for students in their third-year clinical clerkships.
