Teaching Scholars Program

Rachel Chin, MD (TSP 2000-2001) is an Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine and Attending Physician in Emergency Services at San Francisco General Hospital. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a medical degree from the State University of New York at Brooklyn. She did internship and residency training in Emergency Medicine at Stanford. Dr. Chin has worked at San Francisco General Hospital for the past ten years. At UCSF, she has created two courses for medical students: "Introduction in Emergency Medicine" and "Procedures in Emergency Medicine" and created a safety video for needlesticks and body fluid exposure. Dr. Chin has also been an active preceptor and advisor for students interested in emergency medicine. In 2002, she was inducted into the Haile T. Debas Academy of Medical Educators.
