Teaching Scholars Program
is Assistant
Clinical Professor in the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Adolescent
Medicine, and the Medical Director of the Health and Wellness Center
at the Treasure Island Job Corps Center. In this position she has been
responsible for the development of a multi disciplinary community based
clinic and training site for the Division of Adolescent Medicine. She
completed her pediatric training at the Children's Medical Center of
Dallas. She also completed her MPH and training in preventive medicine,
with an emphasis in Sports and Exercise Medicine, as part of the combined
University of California, San Diego/ San Diego State University General
Preventive Medicine Program. Her research interests have focused on
the promotion of physical activity within the primary care setting.
Her educational interests include teaching primary care sports medicine,
physical activity counseling and general adolescent medicine to medical
trainees.
