Teaching Scholars Program Andrew H. Murr, MD, FACS (TSP 2001-2002) is Associate Clinical Professor of Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery at UCSF. He received his BA in Medical Science from Boston University and is a 1987 graduate of Hahnemann University School of Medicine. He completed a surgical internship at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York and an Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery residency at St. Louis University School of Medicine. Dr. Murr is the Program Director of the Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery Residency at UCSF and a Mentor in the Advisory Colleges of the School of Medicine. He is also the Chief of Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery at San Francisco General Hospital. Although his clinical interests include rhinology, laryngology, and trauma surgery, his main research focus centers around the molecular biology of fungal sinus disease. A recipient of the 1998 Roger Boles Award for excellence in teaching, Dr. Murr has a serious interest in the incorporation of advanced teaching methods in the clinical setting, especially as this applies to junior medical students. |
