The UCSF School of Medicine offers a comprehensive structured summer
program for undergraduates from disadvantaged backgrounds or underserved
communities who are considering a career in medicine. The program
is designed for individuals who have completed at least the first
two years of the required undergraduate course work, and who are
interested in gaining access to medical school.
The goal of the UCSF program is to help individuals increase their chance
of gaining admission to medical school by offering MCAT preparation in
biology and verbal reasoning, and mini courses in organic chemistry, chemistry,
and physics (not for college credit). A series of academic skills and
application preparation workshops will also be offered.
The program is six weeks in duration and will be limited to 10
individuals. The program begins on Monday, June 21, 2004.
The application deadline is April 19, 2004.
