Undergraduate Preparation Program 

Eligibility and Admissions

To be eligible for this program, applicants must:

  1. be considered disadvantaged* or be from an underserved community
  2. be a legal resident of California
  3. have completed and successfully passed the first two years of undergraduate school in an accredited 2 or 4 year U.S. university or college
  4. have a minimum overall GPA of 2.54 or higher and a minimum science GPA of 2.54
  5. have completed:
    a) one year of biology with laboratory
    b) the Subject A requirement and one additional English composition course

    and at least one of the following:
    c) chemistry
    d) organic chemistry
    e) physics

Participants will be required to complete a UCSF School of Medicine Undergraduate Preparation Program application, which should be submitted to the program office by April 19, 2004.

*A disadvantaged individual is one who, from an early age, resided in a low income community or experienced enduring family, societal, or other hardships that significantly compromised educational opportunities.
