Undergraduate Preparation Program
Our goal is to provide participants with a low-cost program.
Shared dormitory rooms and a meal voucher will be provided for
participants for the duration of the program at the University
of San Francisco. A modest stipend will be offered to each participant
to assist with incidental expenses during the summer.
The program will include MCAT preparation in biology, verbal reasoning,
and writing to reinforce the knowledge and skills needed to achieve a
competitive score on the test. Students will also have an opportunity
to take mini review courses in Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, and Physics,
which are intended to enhance preparation for undergraduate course work
and the MCAT.
Workshops will be offered to enhance skills in test taking,
critical thinking, reading, time management, and emotional well
being. Participants will take part in workshops that focus on
preparing medical school applications and personal statements,
and preparing for interviews. Students will learn about what distinguishes
a good application and what relevant information about background
and experience should be included.
Opportunities to participate in case presentations, clinical activities,
seminars, and social activities will be provided throughout the six-week
program.
