 Medicine
Thank you for your interest in the Department of Medicine's clinical electives. When space is available, U.S., Canadian and osteopathic visiting students (we do not accept international students) may apply to participate in our electives. There is no remuneration for these electives and neither room nor board is provided.
The maximum amount of elective time for visiting students is 3 months/12 weeks at UCSF.
Beginning in 2009-2010, UCSF will only be accepting applications submitted on-line through the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) Visiting Student Application Service (VSAS), www.aamc.org/programs/vsas/students/start.htm
Canadian and osteopathic visiting students (we do not accept international students) may apply to participate in our electives using the following forms (osteopathic students: use the Canadian application, $150.00 fee, please provide your social security #):
Due to Department of Homeland Security regulations, there will be a $300 processing fee for Canadian students covering Services to International Students and Scholars. If visa documents are delivered by courier, applicants should expect to pay $25 for this service.
Accepting applications: April 19, 2010.
