Gynecology & Reproductive Sciences
Thank you for your interest in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology & Reproductive Sciences' clinical electives. When space is available, U.S., Canadian and osteopathic visiting students (we do not accept international students) may apply to participate in our electives. There is no remuneration for these electives and neither room nor board is provided.
The maximum amount of elective time for visiting students is 3 months/12 weeks at UCSF.
Beginning in 2009-2010, UCSF will only be accepting applications submitted on-line through the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) Visiting Student Application Service (VSAS), www.aamc.org/programs/vsas/students/start.htm
Canadian and osteopathic visiting students (we do not accept international students) may apply to participate in our electives using the following forms (osteopathic students: use the Canadian application, $150.00 fee, please provide your social security #):
Due to Department of Homeland Security regulations, there will be a $300 processing fee for Canadian students covering Services to International Students and Scholars. If visa documents are delivered by courier, applicants should expect to pay $25 for this service.

Your dates of attendance must correspond with our Block Electives Calendar. You must start at the beginning of the block(s) and finish at the end of the block(s). No Exceptions are made to this calendar.

Cancellation:
You must withdraw at least 8 weeks before your starting date. Fees are non-refundable. All cancellations and changes must be made in writing. A letter will be written to your dean if, once scheduled and confirmed, you withdraw from an elective less than eight (8) weeks before the starting date or if you fail to notify us at all.
