Information Services Unit will be Adding an Additional Production Server
04/01/05

In order to minimize maintenance down time, the Information Services Unit will be adding an additional production server. As part of this process, we will be migrating your files from where they currently sit on integration to a new integration server location. We expect this to take place around July, 2005. I am writing you to give you a heads-up and to tell you in advance what we will need from you at that point.

We will ask you to cease work on the current integration server for 1-2 days before the migration. We will give you ample notice (at least three weeks) of when this is to take place.

After the migration has occurred, we will ask you to change your drive mappings to the new server. I will be sure that you understand how to do so and will be available to give you assistance and support.

We would like to assure you that you will not lose any content or work from your current integration server, nor will there be any changes to the WebUpdate Tool or any other aspects of your workflow. Additionally, I will create documentation and tutorials to help you through this process. You may find this a good time to check your integration sites for accuracy and organization and to remove any old, extraneous or redundant files.

As this is just a heads-up, I will be in contact with you again, closer to July, to guide you through the process. We thank you in advance for your co-operation and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you.
