Attended by: Valentina Bettencourt, webresources; Cynthia Milionis, webresources; Beth Berrean, webresources; Larry Van Cantfort, webresources; Naomi Wong, Administration; Lynn Anderson, GME; Victoria Ruddick, OME; Gabrielle Fisher, External Programs; Tara Marchand, OET; Patrick Delahunt, Alumni Relations; Winslow Yerxa, webresources; Sharon Reynolds, Neurosurgery; Betsy Williamson, Academic Affairs; Mary Dekle, OERD; Christine Khuu, Academy of Medical Educators; Nicole Budd, OCBE; Dina Dudum, CHC; Mario Mercurio,

  1. We introduced Larry Van Cantfort, Assistant Director for Web Services who thanked the web workers for all the hard work you did during the redesign.

  2. We demonstrated the new webupdate tool, which will be used for uploading your pages to the new website. Please see the tutorial for a detailed explanation of how to use it.

The URL for the webupdate tool is: webupdate.medschool.ucsf.edu

  3. The webworkers had many questions about the timeline for the site launch and other matters pertaining to the new website. Your sites are currently live at their new URL's. You may publish your new URL's. Now that you have the new webupdate tool, you are free to begin updating your new sites. If you must make changes to the old site, we recommend you also do so on the new one.

We will have the old website up for a few more weeks, then it will be removed and redirects will be put into place. They will live at the site roots and on key pages so your old users will still find you at your new addresses. The redirects will bring users to your sites or to the site map so that they may easily find you.

Please review your sites again now that they are live. In particular, test any applications that you may have running.

Let us know if you are having any permissions issues while attempting to view or edit your sites. Please let us know of any issues that may arise so that we can debug them and get this site running smoothly.

Thank you very much for all your work, cooperation and enthusiasm.
