Using Preformatted Library Items
(Graphics, Tables and See Also Boxes)

We have developed a set of preformatted library items for your use. These include pre-formatted tables and images.

We created these libraries to simplify your work for you. These items are available for you to copy and paste into your pages.

As always, you will be working from within DreamWeaver. Make sure your site files are open. ( To do so, go to Window > Site or hit F8.) At the root of the site you will see the templates folder.

Finding Your Preformatted Libray Items

In the templates folder, you will find four sets of preformatted items for your use.

They are called

  • _graphics.aspx,
  • _library_orange.aspx,
  • _library_blue.aspx, and
  • _library_teal.aspx.

The libraries contain pre-formatted tables and "see also" boxes. They are color coded to match your site. _graphics.aspx contains icons and graphic treatments.

Open your library by double-clicking on it in the Site Window.

To transfer an element from the library to your page, simply select it, copy it (Ctrl C) and paste it into your page (Ctrl V). Then add your own content to the elements.

Note: Some elements such as the back to top gif, have html code related to them. Please see the tutorial on selecting tags for an explanation of how to cut and paste an element with its code.

Note: Text formatting is already included in these elements, so you should not have to do any additional text formatting. See the CSS tutorial to learn how to standardized text formatting to your pages.

Note: An explanation and guidelines for the use of the tables and font styles on this page may be found in our style guide, as well as at the top of the libarary page. Please use those references as you format your pages.
