Writing
URLs and Email Addresses
Do not spell out URLs (particularly long ones).
Name the link with descriptive text, such as the name of the website.
Users are more interested in the name of the site, or in the information
they will find there than in the exact address. Oftentimes, these long
URLs are so wide that they interfere with the formatting of a page.
Add the 'mailto' link to email addresses.
If you are going to spell out an email address, make it a link so a
message can be sent directly. An email link is written as follows: mailto:someone@medsch.ucsf.edu.
Select the link on your page and then type the mailto into the Selection
Properties Link box.
