Tables and Boxes

Tables and boxes are to be placed in the designated areas. Please do not resize or the template may break.

If you find that you are in need of a larger table than our template allows use an oversized table which opens up in a new/blank page.

LeftHandNavigation: This table contains links to the major sub-sections of a site. Work with the Web Services team to develop, change and update these tittles and links.

Notification Box: designed to highlight specific task based links (such as contact us, or apply online), these notification boxes call attention to applications, downloads and other forms that facilitate user tasks. These boxes may also communicate status information about a particular task. (Applications no longer accepted etc). Use sparingly, more than three notification boxes is discouraged.

Simple Box: (shaded or not) For updated items, bullet point lists, and supporting content such as quotes and videos.

Highlight Box: To highlight brief sections of text within a page, a highlight box draws attention to a quote, fact or sentence of particular import or interest. For greater impact, limit the length of text.

Content Table: Tables can organize a list or large amount of textual data.

Simple Table: (shaded or not) For short content that needs to be called out from the content text, bulleted items and lists.

See Also: A content specific table located in the templates right hand column. The see also box should contain relevant links within the School of Medicine, UCSF or affiliated institutions. It is recommended that the number of links not exceed five. Links within UCSF should open in the same window. Links outside UCSF should target a new (select blank in Selection Properties) window.
